Part of me, loving Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, always thought it'd be great to see the boys against insurmountable odds and to freeze-frame on them and just hear stuff in the background. Padalecki would love an ambiguous ending: "It's changed a lot over time.I think we've taken some really good turns." As we've evolved, I think that there's different roads that the show could certainly go down that would be interesting.

But then again, you can't end the TV show with the worst thing happening. Long ago, Ackles figured the finale would be crazy bleak: "If you'd asked me season one, I would've thought that it would've been the apocalypse.However it ends, I’ll be sad and nostalgic as hell as soon as “Carry On My Wayward Son” starts playing.

The series finale is set to have an old-school, early seasons vibe. Sam and Dean Winchester defied Chuck by refusing to kill each other in Supernatural season 15, but the finale perhaps should have heeded Gods word.
Despite ultimately losing, God had a point. It was always the show that kept going, surviving near-cancelations, writer strikes, and changes to CW’s leadership. Published Chuck spent Supernatural season 15 desperately trying to make Sam and Dean Winchester fight each other. It’s weird to say, isn’t it? After all, everything ends eventually, but maybe I never imagined that Supernatural ever really would. Or maybe its longevity is what makes this so hard, I’m not sure. Since Smile ’s villain can alter the perception of its victims and make them see people and places that are not really there, the movie’s ending can become somewhat confusing on a first watch. While taking down a nest of vampires, Dean is impaled from the back by what seems to be some. A breakdown of exactly what that ending was. I mean, five seasons is a damn good run for any show (and lucky for those networks and streamers that enjoy hitting that cancel button so soon), so to get 15 SEASONS feels like a f*cking miracle if you ask me.ĭespite not having watched the series since Season 10 or 11 (seriously, I can’t remember anymore), I tuned in when Supernatural did a Scooby Doo-themed episode, one that saw Dean, Sam, and Castiel become cartoons themselves. I guess it’s hard to say goodbye to a show that has been a staple of television since 2005. Supernatural is airing its series finale tonight and, though I haven’t been following the show in the last few seasons, I was once a HUGE fan of the Impala-driving (and often very angsty) Winchester brothers and their loyal angel friend Castiel.
